Sure, of course it’s disappointing when we find out we are not pregnant, but do we need to blame our period?
When we harbor negative feelings like hopelessness, despair, or downright rage towards our period showing up instead of getting a positive pregnancy test, we are only distancing ourselves from becoming truly fertile.

It's important to recognize that your womb will be your baby’s first home here on earth. Do you want to feed your womb negativity or offer up a love-filled and nourishing environment to welcome your new baby?
To shift a negative outlook quickly, I find there’s nothing better than gratitude writing! Did you know in the Mayan culture, a woman’s womb is considered the source of ALL creative energy in her life? Whether she’s creating a meal, a work of art, or a new life—all of it begins from the creative energy of her womb.
Try this journaling and visualization practice to get your gratitude flowing… and please let me know in the comments below how it goes!
1. Start with a meditation or quieting technique. (Bringing your awareness to your inhale and exhale for a couple of minutes is a great way to do this.)
2. Reflect on something you have manifested in your life that you are truly grateful for and explore the reasons why you are grateful and how this "gift" has impacted your life. Start writing and keep writing.
(Basic journaling rules: Keep your pen moving! Write quickly and don’t worry about spelling or grammar. Write in your own voice, as naturally as possible.)
3. After you have finished writing, sit quietly for a few moments focusing on your breath and the sensations in your body related to your gratitude. Close your eyes and do the visualization practice below. Tip: You can use your smart phone's voice memo function in advance to record this while you read it aloud, and then play it back to yourself for a personal guided visualization :)
Imagine the gratitude you feel as a color, or light, or perhaps warmth flowing into your body. Allow the gratitude to flow into your creative energy source—your womb. See your womb illuminated in gratitude. Let your gratitude fill up your womb, nourishing all of the cells. Imagine each inhale delivering gratitude to your womb over the course of several minutes. Use your exhale to release any negative emotion or energy. You can breathe this gratitude into the specific anatomy of your womb (such as the cervix, uterine lining, uterine wall, tubes, ovaries, follicles) especially if you have any blocks or health challenges here. Visualize this gratitude bringing healing energy into any areas of your womb or body that need it.
4. When you are finished, write about your experience of the visualization using the same journaling rules above.
